THE FUND SUPPORTED THE ACQUISITION OF WADDLE RANCH BY THE TRUCKEE DONNER LAND TRUST AS A PUBLICLY ACCESSIBLE, OPEN SPACE CONSERVATION EASEMENT. IN THE CURRENT YEAR, THE FUND CONTRIBUTED TO THE ACQUISITION OF THE CANYON SPRINGS PROPERTY EAST OF TRUCKEE.
FOR HABITAT/FOREST RESTORATION, THE FUND MADE GRANTS TO TRUCKEE RIVER WATERSHED COUNCIL, TAHOE TRUCKEE COMMUNITY FOUNDATIONS NATURE FUND, MOUNTAIN AREA PRESERVATION, SUGAR PINE FOUNDATION, TRUCKEE TRAILS FOUNDATION, LEAGUE TO SAVE LAKE TAHOE, CLEAN UP CAYES AND SOUTH YUBA RIVER TO SUPPORT FOREST MANAGEMENT AND HABITAT RESTORATION.
THE WORKFORCE HOUSING FUND HAS IMPLEMENTED A DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR HOME PUCHASES IN THE TRUCKEE REGION AND PAYS AN ADMINISTRATIVE FEE TO SIERRA BUSINESS COUNCIL. THE FUND MADE GRANTS TO THE SIERRA COMMUNITY HOUSE OF TRUCKEE AND THE EMERGENCY WARMING CENTER FOR EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE FOR LOW INCOME FAMILIES. THE FUND ALSO MADE A GRANTS TO THE MOUNTAIN HOUSING COUNCIL AND TAHOE TRUCKEE COMUNNITY FOUNDATION FOR SUPPORT OF LOW INCOME HOUSING.
