THE FOUNDATION'S AREA OF SERVICE INCLUDED THE FOLLOWING EIGHT NORTHEASTERN LOUISIANA PARISHES: CALDWELL, FRANKLIN, JACKSON, LINCOLN, MOREHOUSE, OUACHITA, RICHLAND AND UNION.

THE FOUNDATION HELD A SPECIAL GRANT CYCLE 2022 TO PROVIDE FUNDS TO QUALIFIED ORGANIZATIONS IN NORTHEAST LA. AWARDS TOTALED 248,581 DURING THIS CYCLE FOR FOCUSED ONGOING RECOVERY NEEDS FROM THE PANDEMIC AND/OR DISASTERS, INCLUDING MEDICAL, DENTAL, AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROJECTS. IN ADDITION, THE FOUNDATION AWARDED 30,500 FOR TWO SPECIAL FUNDED PROJECTS OUTSIDE THE NORMAL GRANT CYCLE.
WITHIN THE SCOPE OF ITS MISSION AND VISION, THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS SOMETIMES APPROVES FUNDING FOR SPECIFIC INITIATIVES, OUTSIDE THE NORMAL GRANT-MAKING CYCLE, TO SERVICE IDENTIFIED AREAS OF NEED. DURING 2022, THE DENTAL HYGIENE INITIATIVE WAS AGAIN FUNDED AT 33,578 TO PROVIDE DENTAL HYGIENE SERVICES BOTH IN A SCHOOL-BASED DENTAL CLINIC AND A MOBILE UNIT.
