IN FULFILLING ITS EXEMPT PURPOSE, THE FOUNDATION HOLDS LEGAL TITLE TO OVER 1,300 PIECES OF ART VALUED IN EXCESS OF $20 MILLION. THE PRIMARY OBLIGATION OF THE FOUNDATION IS TO PROVIDE 100% OF THE COLLECTION TO THE CITY OF CHARLOTTE. UNDER THE "ART COLLECTION AGREEMENT" OF 9/11/2006 FOR EXHIBITION AND STORAGE IN THE MUSEUM WHICH OPENED JANUARY 2010.
