ADOPT A SCHOOL PARTNER RECRUITMENT, ONGOING COLLABORATIONS WITH CHURCHES TO ADOPT A PUBLIC SCHOOL AND PROVIDE MENTORS AND OTHER VOLUNTEERS TO SUPPORT CHILDREN'S AND TEACHER'S NEEDS. HOST THE ADOPT A SCHOOL CONFERENCE FOR CHURCHES AND SCHOOL REPRESENTATIVES TO COLLABORATE AND SHARE RESOURCES. COORDINATE CHURCHES TO HELP MEET COMMUNITY NEEDS SUCH AS FOOD DRIVES AND FURNITURE DONATIONS.

PURPOSE: Shiloh Place is a 501(c)3 corporation whose purpose is to provide housing, shelter, food, clothing and education to single mothers who are experiencing homelessness. Throughout a 2 year period the young mothers are guided from homelessness to self-sufficiency.

CLOTHE A CHILD

PURPOSE: This grant is provided to supply clothing to more than 1,000 children in a single day at Kohl's department store. The children are allowed to choose their own clothing. All participating children are elementary students in McKinney Independent School District and participate in the Free Lunch Program. In order to participate in that program, the parents must prove that they meet federal income standards for the program. When a family has been identified as eligible for the program, parents must fill out an application and can return the completed application at the local school SUCCESS (parenting and school relationship) class.
