THE OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSOCIATION IS TO DO ALL IN ITS POWER TO PROTECT AND ADVANCE THE INTERESTS OF THE BREED OF IRISH WOLFHOUNDS; TO ENCOURAGE AND PROMOTE QUALITY IN THE BREEDING OF PUREBRED IRISH WORLHOUNDS; TO URGE MEMBERS AND BREEDERS TO ACCEPT THE STANDARDS OF THE BREED AS APPROVED BY THE AMERICAN KENNEL CLUBAS THE ONLY STANDARD OF EXCELLENCE BY WHICH IRISH WOLFHOUNDS SHALL BE JUDGED; TO DO ALL IN ITS POWER TO PROTECT AND ADVANCE THE INTERESTS OF THE BREED BY ENCOURAGING SPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT AT DOG SHOWS AND OBEDIENCE TRIALS; TO CONDUCT SANCTIONED SHOWS AND MATCHES UNDER THE RULES OF THE AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB.
