DISASTER RESPONSE ACSNA OPERATES WITH A STATEMNET OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMNT AGENCY, THE AMERICAN RED CROSS AND MANY STATE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCIES. IT HELPS DISASTER SURVIVORS BY PROVIDING GRANTS TO ADVENTIST COMMUNITY SERVICESLOCAL COMMUNITIES FOR HURRICANES, TORNADOES, BUILDING COLLAPSE, AND REFUGEE RELIEF EFFORTS.


YOUNG ADULTS IN SERVICE (YAS) - A MINISTRY TO ENGAGE AND NETWORKS YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS BEYOND SERVICE MINISTRIES (MINISTRIES OF COMPASSION). IT IS FUNDAMENTALLY ROOTED IN THE MISSION STATEMENT OF ACS: "SERVING COMMUNITIES IN CHRIST'S NAME". THROUGH YAS, YOU ARE PART OF AN IMPORTANT NETWORK OF YOUNG PEOPLE THROUGHOUT NORTH AMERICA WHO DEVELOP THEIR LEADERSHIP SKILLS. YOU WILL ENGAGE IN RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS, STRATEGICALLY PLANNED SERVICE EVENTS, DISASTER RESPONSE AND EMERGENCY RELIEF. YAS TEAMS SEEK TO DEVELOP SUSTAINABLE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FOR THE WHOLE COMMUNITY. THROUGH SERVICE YOU DEMONSTRATE COMPASSION, AND FOLLOW CHRIST'S EXAMPLE IN MEETING THE TEMPORARY AND PERMANENT NEEDS OF OTHERS. THE YAS NETWORK CONSISTS OF AFFILIATIONS WITH VARIOUS SCHOOLS, YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS, PATHFINDER CLUBS, AND YOUTH MINISTRIES, AND COMMUNITY SERVICE GROUPS.


COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT/URBAN MINISTRY - NAD ACS PROVIDES SEED GRANTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR TO PROVIDE ADVENTIST COMMUNITY SERVICES CENTERS TO HELP WITH EXPANSIONS, UPGRADES, AND NEW INNOVATIONS TO MEET THE NEEDS IN THEIR COMMUNITIES. APPLICATIONS ARE RECEIVED AND REVIEWED BY THE REVIEW COMMITTEE AND RECOMMENDED TO THE ACS BOARD FOR APPROVAL. ACSNA ALSO HAS CONDUCTED SEVERAL ACS LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT SYMPOSIUMS: 1. NON-PROFIT LEADERSHIP CERTIFICATION PROGRAM (NLCP. NLCP IS DESIGNED TO EQUIP PASTORS AND CHURCH MEMBERS WITH STRATEGIES AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS TO SUCCESSFULLY LEAD. IT FOCUSES ON THREE MAJOR LEARNING OUTCOMES: A) MANAGERIAL SKILLS, B) LEADERSHIP SKILLS, AND C) BIBLICAL CONCEPTS OF HOLISTIC MINISTRY. 2. COMMUNITY SERVICES AND URBAN MINISTRY CERTIFICATION PROGRAM. IT CONTAINS 15 MODULES WHICH INSTRUCTOR ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD CAN ADOPT AND PRESENT TO LOCALS WHO DESIRE TO BE BETTER EQUIPPED TO SERVE THEIR COMMUNITIES. THE MODULES ARE WRITTEN BY A VARIETY OF AUTHORS, AND PRESENTED IN A VARIETY OF STYLES AND FORMATS. THIS PROGRAM WAS TRANSCRIBED IN THREE MORE LANGUAGES, PORTUGUESE, FRENCH, AND SPANISH.


OLDER ADULT MINISTRY - OFFERS A CURRICULUM WITH A VARIETY OF TOPICES THAT PREPARES VOLUNTEERS TO ADDRESS THE NEEDS OF ODLER ADULTS, CAREGIVERS, AND HOW TO AGE SUCCESSFULLY. PART OF THE FUNDS GOES FOR PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN UP-TO-DATE MATERIAL AND EDUCATION ON THIS SUBJECT. THIS ALSO INCLUDES A WEB-PORTAL FOR CHUCH MEMBERS TO ACCESS INFORMATION RELATED TO AGING AND CARE.
