THE BARN AT SPRING BROOK FARM PROVIDES ANIMAL-ASSISTED AND NATURE-BASED EXPERIENCES TO CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES AS A MEANS OF PROMOTING KNOWLEDGE AND ENHANCING CONFIDENCE AND SELF-ESTEEM. ALL ACTIVITIES TAKE PLACE ON AND AROUND A WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE BARN ON A 17.5 ACRE FARM IN WEST CHESTER, PENNSYLVANIA. IN 2021 THE BARN ENGAGED APPROXIMATELY 350 CHILDREN THROUGH VIRTUAL EDUCATIONAL FIELD TRIPS, SOCIALIZATION EVENTS, AND OTHER PROGRAMS DELIVERED VIA ZOOM AND FACEBOOK LIVE, AS WELL AS IN-PERSON FAMILY BARN VISITS AND INDIVIDUAL PROGRAMS. OVER 40 STUDENTS FROM AREA COLLEGES AND UNVERSITIES SATISFIED CLINICAL REQUIREMENTS TOWARD THEIR DEGREES BY ASSISTING WITH PROGRAM DELIVERY. AN ADDITIONAL 108 VOLUNTEERS ASSISTED BY HELPING WITH PROGRAMS, SERVING ON OUR BOARD AND ADVISORY BOARD, TAKING CARE OF OUR GARDENS AND MORE.
