CONVENIENTLY LOCATED ACROSS FROM HAYS MEDICAL CENTER, VIA CHRISTI VILLAGE IN HAYS (VCVH) PROVIDES A CONTINUUM OF CARE TO RESIDENTS THAT MAXIMIZES DIGNITY AND INDEPENDENCE. ROOTED IN THE CATHOLIC TRADITION OF CARING, OUR COMMUNITY IS CONTINUALLY DEVELOPING AND ADOPTING NEW BEST PRACTICES IN CARE THAT ENHANCE THE EXPERIENCE OF OUR RESIDENTS, PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS AND PATIENTS. THE STAFF IS COMMITTED TO PROMOTING THE WELL-BEING OF THOSE WE SERVE THROUGH THE DELIVERY OF QUALITY CARE. VCVH OFFERS ASSISTED AND HEALTHCARE SERVICES, 39 ASSISTED LIVING APARTMENTS IN A VARIETY OF FLOOR PLANS WITH AN AVERAGE OCCUPANCY IN 2022 OF 37 OR 94.4%, AND A 96-BED HEALTH CARE CENTER WITH AN AVERAGE OCCUPANCY OF 69 OR 71.8%. IN 2022, 11,508 DAYS OF CARE WERE PROVIDED TO MEDICAID RECIPIENTS; 2,199 DAYS OF CARE WERE PROVIDED TO MEDICARE RECIPIENTS. AS A FAITH-BASED CONTINUING CARE RETIREMENT COMMUNITY, THE VILLAGE OFFERS ON SITE PASTORAL CARE AND RELIGIOUS SERVICES, AS WELL AS OUTSTANDING DINING AND LIFE ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES. ALL ACCOMMODATIONS ALLOW RESIDENTS EASY ACCESS TO LIVING AREAS AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO NURTURE NEW FRIENDSHIPS. COMMUNITY BENEFIT SERVICES PROGRAMS, ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS WERE PROVIDED SUCH AS COMMUNITY HEALTH IMPROVEMENT SERVICES, SUBSIDIZED HEALTH SERVICES, AND OTHER COMMUNITY BENEFIT OPERATIONS SERVING THE POOR OR VULNERALBE, AND PROGRAMS, SERVICES, ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS THAT IMPROVE ACCESS, RESPOND TO THE HEALTH NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY, AND ADVANCE MEDICAL OR HEALTH CARE KNOWLEDGE WERE INVESTED IN THE BROADER COMMUNITY OF $15,386. APPROXIMATELY $11,227 OF CHARITY CARE WAS ALSO PROVIDED. AS PART OF THE ASCENSION CATHOLIC HEALTH MINISTRY, THE FILING ORGANIZATION SERVED IN SUPPORT OF ASCENSION'S COMMITMENT TO BOTH CARE FOR PATIENTS AND COMMUNITIES AND SUPPORT CAREGIVERS AND OTHER ASSOCIATES THROUGH THE ONGOING CHALLENGES OF THE COVID-19 GLOBAL PANDEMIC INTO FY22.
