AMEND'S MISSION IS TO DEVELOP, IMPLEMENT, AND EVALUATE EVIDENCE-BASED INTERVENTIONS TO REDUCE THE INCIDENCE OF ROAD TRAFFIC INJURY AMONG THE MOST VULNERABLE ROAD USERS IN AFRICA TODAY WHILE WORKING TO HELP CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT FOR LONG-TERM, SUSTAINABLE INJURY REDUCTION.

IN 2022 AMEND.ORG PURSUED ITS CHARITABLE AIMS THROUGH THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES IN NINE COUNTRIES IN SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA: THE PROVISION OF LIFESAVING INFRASTRUCTURE AROUND HIGH-RISK SCHOOLS; ROAD SAFETY EDUCATION TO THOUSANDS OF PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL CHILDREN; THE DELIVERY OF A SAFE RIDER TRAINING PROGRAM TO OVER 800 COMMERCIAL MOTORCYCLE RIDERS; THE PROVISION OF TECHNICAL SAFE SCHOOL AREA ENGINEERING CONSULTING ON SIX DEVELOPMENT BANK FINANCED ROADS PROJECTS; SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH INTO THE CAUSES AND IMPACT OF ROAD TRAFFIC INJURIES AMONG CHILDREN AND YOUTH; AND ASSORTED ADVOCACY AND RESEARCH FOR SAFE AND SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT.
