AMEND'S MISSION IS TO DEVELOP, IMPLEMENT, AND EVALUATE EVIDENCE-BASED INTERVENTIONS TO REDUCE THE INCIDENCE OF ROAD TRAFFIC INJURY AMONG THE MOST VULNERABLE ROAD USERS IN AFRICA TODAY WHILE WORKING TO HELP CREATE AN ENVIRONMENT FOR LONG-TERM, SUSTAINABLE INJURY REDUCTION.

IN 2021 AMEND.ORG FURTHERED ITS CHARITABLE AIMS THROUGH THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES IN SUB-SAHARAN AFRICA: THE PROVISION OF LIFESAVING INFRASTRUCTURE AROUND HIGH-RISK SCHOOLS; ROAD SAFETY EDUCATION FOR THOUSANDS OF PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS; THE DELIVERY OF A SAFE RIDER TRAINING PROGRAM TO OVER 500 COMMERCIAL MOTORCYCLE RIDERS IN SIX COUNTRIES; THE PROVISION OF TECHNICAL SAFE SCHOOL AREA ENGINEERING CONSULTING ON THREE WORLD BANK FINANCED ROADS PROJECTS; THE IMPLEMENTATION OF OUR "KIDS' COURT" PROJECT WITH SCHOOLS AND THE TRAFFIC POLICE IN THREE COUNTRIES; SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH INTO THE CAUSES AND IMPACT OF ROAD TRAFFIC INJURIES AMONG CHILDREN AND YOUTH; AND ASSORTED ADVOCACY AND RESEARCH FOR SAFE AND SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORT.
