AS A HISTORICAL SOCIETY, THE ORGANIZATION MISSION IS THE COLLECTION AND PRESERVATION OF DATA AND ITEMS PERTAINING TO THE HISTORY OF BARTLETT, NH, LIVERMORE, NH; AND HART'S LOCATION, NH AS WELL AS STIMULATING INTEREST IN THE HISTORY OF BARTLETT, NH, LIVERMORE, NH, AND HART'S LOCATION THROUGH THE PROMOTION AND CONDUCTING OF EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES AND EVENTS RELATED TO THE HISTORY OF THESE THREE NEW HAMPSHIRE TOWNS AND THE MOUNT WASHINGTON VALLEY REGION.

THE HISTORICAL HERALD IS A QUARTERLY NEWSLETTER THAT PROVIDES MEMBERS AND NONMEMBER DONORS WITH UPDATES ON SOCIETY EVENTS, ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS AS WELL AS FEATURE HISTORICAL ARTICLES RELATED TO BARTLETT, NH. EXPENSES ARE FOR THE PRINTING, SUPPLIES AND POSTAGE TO SEND NEWSLETTERS TO APPROXIMATELY 500 ADDRESSES PER QUARTER.


BARTLETT HISTORICAL SOCIETY SPONSORS QUARTERLY PRESENTATIONS FEATURING AUTHORS AND HISTORIANS PRESENTING TOPICS OF LOCAL AND REGIONAL HISTORY RELATED TO BARTLETT, NH, THE MOUNT WASHINGTON VALLEY AND NEW HAMPSHIRE IN GENERAL. WE WERE ABLE TO HOLD FOUR PRESENTATIONS IN 2023 WITH AUDIENCES RANGING FROM 50-70 PEOPLE.


BHS DOES NOT HAVE AN ONLINE CAPABILITY FOR PEOPLE TO RESEARCH INFORMATION RELATED TO BARTLETT OR REGIONAL HISTORY, OR GENEALOGICAL INFORMATION. THE HISTORICAL SOCIETY REGULARLY FIELDS QUESTIONS, CONDUCTS HISTORICAL RESEARCH FOR INQUIRIES, AND RESPONDS TO PEOPLE FROM ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY. THIS WORK ENLIVENS THE EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES PORTION OF OUR MISSION STATEMENT.
