DIRECTED GRANTS TO CHARITABLE ORGANIZATIONS THAT SUPPORT CHILDREN, FAMILIES, THE ELDERLY, EDUCATION AND VUNERABLE INDIVIDUALS IN ORDER TO MAKE A POSITIVE IMPACT IN THE TAMPA BAY AREA.CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O.FLORIDA MEDICAL CLINIC ORLANDO HEALTH (FMCOH) IS NOT ONLY A MAJOR HEALTHCARE PROVIDER IN MULTIPLE COUNTIES, BUT ALSO SETS A VERY VISIBLE EXAMPLE OF PHILANTHROPIC LEADERSHIP. HELPING PATIENTS IS ONLY A PART OF HOW FMCOH SERVES OUR COMMUNITY, AFTER ALL, WHO BETTER SEES THE NEEDS OF OUR COMMUNITY THAN THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR HEALTHCARE?SINCE 2005 THE PHILANTHROPIC ARM OF FMCOH, THE FOUNDATION OF CARING HAS MADE A VAST IMPACT BY SUPPORTING INDIVIDUALS, CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN NEED AND AT-RISK."WE ARE DEDICATED TO GIVING BACK. INSTEAD, FOC STRATEGICALLY REINVESTS LOCALLY THROUGH QUALIFIED NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS TO LEVERAGE RESOURCES, ENRICH LIVES AND CREATE MEASURABLE, IMMEDIATE AND ONGOING POSITIVE TRANSFORMATIONS FOR THOSE LESS FORTUNATE. AS CATALYST FOR CHANGE THROUGH A VARIETY OF WORTHWHILE COMMUNITY PROJECTS, FOC COLLECTIVELY POOLS OUR RESOURCES TO MAKE THE GREATEST IMPACT TO THE AREAS WITH THE GREATEST NEEDS.THE FOUNDATION OF CARING IS UNIQUELY POSITIONED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE; AS PART OF THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM AND AS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT FOUNDATION WHO FUNDS VARIOUS CHARITABLE PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS. WE HAVE WORKED DILIGENTLY TO BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH A WIDE RANGE OF LOCAL CHARITIES IN ORDER TO PROVIDE HOPE, OPPORTUNITIES AND SOLUTIONS TO THOSE WHO NEED IT MOST. THROUGH VOLUNTEERISM, IN-KIND DONATIONS AND PARTICIPATION IN TEAM FMCOH EVENTS, THE FOUNDATION INCREASES THE VISIBILITY OF OUR MISSION AND THE CLINIC AS A WHOLE.THE COMMUNITY IMPACT OF THE FOUNDATION OF CARING IS DELIVERED IN A FEW WAYS. FIRST, WE OFFER GRANT OPPORTUNITIES TO NONPROFITS NEEDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. FOC BOARD MEMBERS RESEARCH EACH PROPOSAL, VET EACH APPLICANT AND DETERMINE THE NEEDS OF THE CONSTITUENTS. GRANTS ARE AWARDED ANNUALLY, IN DECEMBER. THROUGH OUR ANNUAL COMPETITIVE GRANT PROCESS, WE HAVE FED HUNGRY FAMILIES, FUNDED PROGRAMS FOR AT RISK CHILDREN, UNDERWRITTEN COSTS OF ACCESSIBILITY UPGRADES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND PROVIDED SAFE HAVENS FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN WHO HAVE BEEN ABUSED.FOC ALSO OFFERS VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES TO PROVIDERS, EMPLOYEES AND ADMINISTRATORS. WHEN A VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY IS IDENTIFIED, INTERESTED EMPLOYEES, BUSINESS ASSOCIATES, FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS GATHER TOGETHER TO MEET THE IDENTIFIED HARDSHIP. THIS CAN BE "HANDS ON" WORK AT A LOCAL COMMUNITY AGENCY, BOOSTING ATTENDANCE AT AN EVENT AS TEAM FMCOH, OR RAISING AWARENESS AND MONEY TO MEET A SPECIFIC NEED.IN 2016, THE FOUNDATION OF CARING WAS AWARDED THE PHILANTHROPIC SERVICE CLUB OF THE YEAR AT THE ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONAL FUNDRAISERS, NATURE COAST CHAPTER'S NATIONAL PHILANTHROPY DAY.
