DONATE LIFE CALIFORNIA ESTABLISHED THE CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZED ORGAN, EYE AND TISSUE REGISTRY IN 2005 AND CONTINUES TO REGISTER NEW DONORS EACH YEAR. THE DONOR REGISTRY GIVES ALL CALIFORNIANS AN OPPORTUNITY TO DECLARE THEIR DESIRE TO DONATE THEIR ORGANS AND TISSUES FOR TRANSPLANTATION AND RESEARCH. IN 2021, MORE THAN 900,000 PEOPLE IN CALIFORNIA SIGNED UP WITH THE DONATE LIFE CALIFORNIA ORGAN, EYE AND TISSUE REGISTRY, BRINGING THE TOTAL NUMBER OF REGISTERED DONORS TO OVER 17.7 MILLION.
