YOUTH EDUCATION: PROVIDES EDUCATION ON ORGAN, EYE, AND TISSUE DONATION IN AN AGE APPROPRIATE WAY FOR AUDIENCES FROM SEVENTH GRADE ALL THE WAY UP TO COLLEGE LEVEL. DONATE LIFE NORTHWEST FORGES A CRITICAL LINK BETWEEN MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS AND EDUCATORS PROVIDING CURRICULUM BASED LEARNING, CLASSROOM PRESENTATIONS, STUDENT PROJECTS, AND MANY OTHER RESOURCES. THE CURRICULUM IS DESIGNED TO EXPLAIN DONATION IN AN EDUCATIONAL, INTERACTIVE, AND INSPIRATIONAL WAY TO CULTIVATE A PRO-DONATION COMMUNITY THROUGHOUT THE PACIFIC NORTHWEST. LIVING KIDNEY DONATION INITIATIVES: PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS AND MATERIALS TO HELP EDUCATE MORE END-STAGE RENAL DISEASE PATIENTS ON TRANSPLANT AND LIVING DONATION. THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDE A MENTOR PROGRAM FOR PATIENTS WHO ARE LISTED FOR A TRANSPLANT, EDUCATION IN DIALYSIS UNITS, AND VARIOUS ONLINE AND PRINTED MATERIALS. ADDITIONALLY WORKS TO INCREASE AWARENESS AROUND LIVING DONATION IN THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION INITIATIVES: BILINGUAL (SPANISH/ENGLISH) STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS PROVIDE EDUCATION THROUGH CULTURALLY RELEVANT MESSAGES, THE WEBSITE DONEVIDANW.ORG AND SOCIAL MEDIA OUTLETS. ACTIVITIES AND RESOURCES INCLUDE PRESENTATIONS, SUPPORT GROUPS, FAITH COMMUNITIES, AND FESTIVALS AS WELL AS MEDIA CAMPAIGNS AND BILINGUAL MATERIALS. DMV OUTREACH: PARTNERSHIP WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES PROVIDES OREGONIANS THE OPPORTUNITY TO REGISTER TO BE DONORS THROUGH PERMITS, LICENSES AND IDENTIFICATION CARDS.
