DURING SUMMER MONTHS WE OFFER WEEKLY DANCE CAMPS AND WORKSHOPS TO INTRODUCE THE REQUIRED TRAINING SKILLS ANDCHOREOGRAPHY TO DANCE STUDENTS INTERESTED IN PERFORMING. THE PARTICIPANTS ARE ORGANIZED BY AGE AND SKILL LEVEL TO OFFER PROPER TRAINING. INFINITY BALLET THEATRE ("IBT") FACULTY AND GUEST ARTISTS TEACH LESSONS AND DEVELOP CHOREOGRAPHY FOR EACH SESSION. AT THE END OF EACH SESSION, THERE IS A STUDIO PERFORMANCE COORDINATING THE GROUPS TO CREATE A PRODUCTION. IN AUGUST, OPEN AUDITIONS AND REGISTRATION BEGIN FOR THE COMMUNITY FOR OUR FALL STUDENT PERFORMING PROGRAM. DURING THE SUMMER OF 2021 THE PARTICIPATION WAS BOTH THROUGH ZOOM AND IN SMALL GROUPS IN PERSON.IN SEPTEMBER, TYPICALLY AN EIGHT WEEK SESSION OF WEEKLY REHEARSALS BEGINS FOR TWO STORYBOOK BALLET PRODUCTIONS THAT ARE PERFORMED AT THE LOCAL THEATER AND FOR COMMUNITY PROJECTS THAT ARE PERFORMED IN PLACES LIKE SENIOR HOMES IN NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER. DURING 2021-2022 SEASON WE RETURNED TO THE LOCAL STAGE AND OFFERED BOTH PRODUCTIONS TO THE COMMUNITY. TYPICALLY, DURING THE EARLY MONTHS OF THE YEAR, THE PROGRAMS OFFER INTERMEDIATE AND ADVANCED LEVEL COMPANY MEMBERS OPPORTUNITIES TO PARTICIPATE IN FESTIVALS OUTSIDE THE LOCAL AREA TO BUILD ON THEIR PERFORMING SKILLS AND WORK WITH STUDENTS FROM OTHER AREAS OF THE STATE AND COUNTRY. DURING WINTER, OPEN AUDITIONS ARE HELD FOR DANCERS WITHIN THE COMMUNITY FOR OUR SPRING STUDENT PERFORMING PROGRAMS. PERFORMERS WORK WITH FACULTY AND GUEST ARTISTS, FROM MARCH THROUGH MAY, TO PREPARE DANCES TO BE PRESENTED IN THE COMMUNITY FROM SPRING TO SUMMER. ADVANCED PARTICIPANTS ARE OFFERED OPPORTUNITIES TO LEARN TEACHING SKILLS WHERE THEY CAN USE THESE SKILLS TO WORK WITH VARIOUS GROUPS IN THE COMMUNITY OFFERING EDUCATIONAL DEMONSTRATIONS TO INTRODUCE DANCE TO ENHANCE THE ARTS IN THE AREA. DURING EARLY 2021 THIS WAS LIMITED AND INSTEAD WE DID A WINTER WORKSHOP WITH PROFESSIONALS IN THE FIELD, LIMITING NUMBERS PER SESSION, REQUIRING MASKS AND DOING SMALL STUDIO SHOWINGS WITH LIMITED NUMBERS IN THE AUDIENCE FOR THE COMMUNITY. WE COMPLETED THE SEASON WITH A FULL SCALE PRODUCTION OF MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM AT THE CARY ARTS CENTER.
