MWHR IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDING A SAFE HAVEN FOR PREVIOUSLY OWNED MUSTANGS, WILD HORSES, AND BURROS THAT ARE NO LONGER WANTED BY THEIR OWNERS OR THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN ABANDONED, ABUSED, AND/OR NEGLECTED BY THEIR OWNERS. MWHR REHABILITATES THE HORSES SO THEY CAN SUCCESSFULLY BE RE-ADOPTED. IN 2022 THE RESCUE OBATINES A CONTRIBUTION FOR 1.578 MILLION AND SECURED A LOAN FOR 500,000 IN ORDER TO ACQUIRE THE 22.97 ACRES OR LAND ON WHICH THE CHARITY IS LOCATED. THE LOAN IS A THREE YEAR INTEREST ONLY LOAN WITH A BALLOON PAYMENT AT TEH END OF YEAR THREE.

THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES REHABILITATION, MEDICAL CARE AND TRAINING FOR ALL OF OUR ANIMALS. THIS INCLUDES FEED/HAY, VETERINARY EXPENSES, TRANSPORTATION, FARRIER EXPENSES AND TRAINING COSTS. IN ADDITION, THE ORGANIZATION INCURS EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH PASTURE AND FARM UPKEEP TO PROVIDE A SAFE ENVIRONMENT FOR OUR HORSES TO LIVE UNTIL THEY ARE ADOPTED INTO NEW HOMES. THE ORGANIZATION'S GOAL IS TO FIND PERMANENT APPROVED HOMES FOR THE RESCUED ANIMALS. THE ORGANIZATION IS STAFFED BY VOLUNTEERS WHO PROVIDE THE DAY TO DAY CARE OF THE ANIMALS.
