THIS FOUNDATION WAS ESTABLISHED IN CONJUCTION WITH THE MERGER OF TEMPLE EMANU-EL OF GREATER FORT LAUDERDALE AND TEMPLE KOL AMI. TEMPLE EMANU-EL ESTABLISHED THE FOUNDATION BY DONATING ITS REAL PROPERTY AS ITS CORPUS, WITH THE PURPOSE OF SELLING THE PROPERTY AND THEN CREATE AN ENDOWMENT FUND. THE TWO TEMPLES MERGED AND THE SURVIVING CORPORATION (TEMPLE KOL AMI, INC.) CHANGED ITS NAME TO TEMPLE KOL AMI EMANU-EL, INC.ON 08/08/05 THE REAL PROPERTY WAS SOLD FOR $4,200,000, NETTING $3,511,446 AFTER PAYING OFF DEBTS AND EXPENSES OF SALE. AFTER THE SALE, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DOCUMENTS GOVERNING THE MERGER, $775,199 WAS DONATED TO THE BENEFICIARY ORGANIZATION (TEMPLE KOL AMI EMANU-EL). THE BALANCE OF $2,736,247 WAS INVESTED WITH A GOAL TO GENERATE ENOUGH INCOME TO FURTHER SUPPORT THE TEMPLE.ON OCTOBER 1, 2012, A LOAN WAS MADE TO TEMPLE KOL AMI EMANU-EL, IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,961,021.ON MARCH 11, 2021, THE LOAN WAS PAID OFF FULLY.
