THE VOLUNTEER FLORIDA FOUNDATION RAISES FUNDS TO SUPPORT VOLUNTEER FLORIDA, HELPING ADMINISTER HIGH-IMPACT NATIONAL SERVICE PROGRAMS AND PROMOTE VOLUNTEERISM THROUGHOUT THE STATE. THE FOUNDATION IS ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR THE GOVERNOR'S SPECIAL INITIATIVES, INCLUDING THE BLACK HISTORY MONTH, NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH, AND HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH CELEBRATIONS, AS WELL AS AWARDS THAT HONOR FLORIDA'S OUTSTANDING VOLUNTEERS, EDUCATORS, HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS AND VETERANS.


THE FLORIDA DISASTER FUND IS THE STATE OF FLORIDA'S OFFICIAL PRIVATE FUND ESTABLISHED TO ASSIST FLORIDA'S COMMUNITIES AS THEY RESPOND TO AND RECOVER DURING TIMES OF EMERGENCY OR DISASTER. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE PUBLIC SECTOR, PRIVATE SECTOR AND OTHER NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS, THE FLORIDA DISASTER FUND SUPPORTS RESPONSE AND RECOVERY ACTIVITIES.
