OUR MISSION IS TO RESPOND TO NATURAL OR MAN-MADE DISASTERS, SUCH AS HURRICANES, EARTHQUAKES, INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENTS, MAJOR TRANSPORTATION ACCIDENTS, TERRORIST ATTACKS, WEAPONS OF MASS EFFECTS (WME) AND ARMED CONFLICTS, OFTEN RESULTING IN MASS CAUSALITIES AND PATIENTS CAUSING A HOSPITAL SURGE. DMAT IS ESSENTIALLY DESIGNED TO BE A RAPID-RESPONSE ELEMENT THAT DEPLOYS TO DISASTER SITES WITH SUFFICIENT SUPPLIES AND EQUIPMENT TO SUSTAIN THEMSELVES AND CARE FOR PATIENTS FOR A PERIOD OF 72 HOURS.

OPERATIONS:MAINTAINED CACHE FOR DISASTER RESPONSE.FOCUS WAS ON RECRUITING NEW MEMBERS FOR BOTH THE FEDERAL AND STATE TEAMS. FOCUS ON ADVANCED TRAINING INCLUDING AN OFFSITE EXERCISE (FTX) FOR TEAM MEMBERS TO PARTICIPATE WHICH HIGHLIGHTS THE ACTUAL SET UP AND OPERATION DURING AN ACTUAL SITUATION. FOCUS ON COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT FOR SUPPORT AND TRAINING, AND FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES TO THE PUBLIC.PROVIDED INFORMATION TO MEMBERS FOR ADDITIONAL TRAINING AVAILABLE FOR THEIR RESPECTIVE AREA OF EXPERTISE.SECURE MAINTENANCE OF COMMUNICATION AND MEDICAL EQUIPMENT.TRAINING:MAINTAINED AND TRAINED ON THE GATEKEEPER SYSTEM (53FT MOBILE MEDICAL FIELD HOSPITAL).THERE IS A MONTHLY MEETING FOR ALL MEMBERS ALONG WITH TRAINING. SUBJECTS INCLUDED: IMMUNIZATIONS, E-LEARN TRAINING, BOMB TRAINING, MENTAL HEALTH TRAINING, HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TRAINING, COMMUNICATIONS TRAINING AND PRT (PATIENT RESPONSE TRAILER) TRAINING.HELD AN FTX EXERCISE FOR TEAM MEMBERS TO PARTICIPATE AND TRAIN ON PORTRAYED SCENARIO.HELD TRAINING IN THE WAREHOUSE FOR POTENTIAL DEPLOYMENTSPROVIDE MEMBERS WITH ALL SUPPORT, INFORMATION, TECHNOLOGY, TRAINING AND ADDITIONAL RESOURCES FOR IMPROVEMENT
