THE WELL PROGRAM- DISPLAYS THE LOVE OF JESUS TO THE BROKEN, OPPRESSED AND POOR OF THAILAND THROUGH MATERIAL, RELATIONAL AND SPIRITUAL REHABILITATION. PROSTITUTION RESCUE IN THAILAND THROUGH THE WELL PROGRAM DISPLAYS THE LOVE OF JESUS TO MEN, WOMEN AND THEIR FAMILIES INVOLVED IN THE THAI SEX INDUSTRY THROUGH RESCUE AND REHABILITATION SERVICES THAT PROVIDE FOOD, CLOTHING, HOUSING, ADDICTION RECOVERY AND EMOTIONAL HEALING THROUGH COUNSELING, CAREER EDUCATION & TRAINING AND SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT. MANY OF THESE SERVICES WERE DELIVERED AT THE COFFEE SHOP COMMUNITY MINISTRY THAT BEGAN IN 2019 AND GREW DURING 2020. INCLUDED UNDER THE UMBRELLA OF THE WELL MINISTRIES ARE ACCOUNTS DIRECTED AT SPECIAL DEVELOPMENTAL NEEDS OF THE RECIPIENTS OF THE WELL SERVICES. INCLUDED HERE ARE THE GRACE FUND AND FUTURE LEADERS FUND.
NARIMON PROGRAM/COMMUNITY CENTER BANGKOK- PROVIDES WOMEN WHO HAVE LEFT THE THAI SEX INDUSTRY A WAY TO EARN INCOME WHILE MAINTAINING THEIR DIGNITY. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES ALTERNATIVE INCOME-PRODUCING OPPORTUNITIES FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS WHO EITHER ONCE WERE FORCED TO SELL THEIR DIGNITY OR ARE AT HIGH RISK FOR DOING SO. THROUGH NARIMON THE WOMEN AND GIRLS CREATE HANDMADE PRODUCTS THAT THEY CAN BE PROUD OF, AND BEGIN TO UNDERSTAND THAT THEY ARE VALUABLE BEYOND MEASURE. THE PRODUCTS ARE SOLD PRIMARILY IN THE UNITED STATES IN CONJUNCTION WITH PUBLIC AWARENESS PROGRAMS THAT ENCOURAGE PRAYERS AND ACTION AGAINST THE THAI SEX TRADE. THE SHIFT IN PRODUCT EMPHASIS FROM JEWELRY TOWARDS CONVENIENCE SNACK FOOD PRODUCTS SOLD LOCALLY BEGUN DURING 2018 HAS CONTINUED TO EXPAND IN BOTH VOLUME AND DIVERSITY OF PRODUCTS OFFERED. THE PRIMARY SALES VENUE IS THE COFFEE SHOP MINISTRY SITE WHICH HAS LED TO GROWTH IN BOTH AREAS.
SERVANTWORKS OPERATES SEVERAL SMALLER YOUTH ORIENTED PROJECTS INCLUDING GRACE FUND, THE WELL CHILDREN, FUTURE LEADERS, THAILAND BENEVOLENCE, AND UPCOUNTRY YOUTH. THESE VARIOUS PROJECTS OFFER A BROAD SPECTRUM OF ASSISTANCE TO HELP AT RISK YOUTH TO TURN FROM THE TYPICAL JOURNEY TOWARDS THE SEX TRADE AND TO FOCUS ON EDUCATION AND CAREERS THAT UPLIFT THE HUMAN SPIRIT AND ALLOW FOR SPIRITUAL GROWTH.
PREVIOUSLY A PILOT PROGRAM OF THE WELL, THE NAREE SEWING PROJECT BECAME AN ON-GOING ENTERPRISE DURING 2017 UNDER THE OVERSIGHT OF OUR FIELD DIRECTOR, JIM LARSON. THIS EXPANDING EFFORT IS CURRENTLY MANAGED AND CONDUCTED BY SERVANTWORKS ASSOCIATES UNDER THE NAME OF NAREE WITHIN THAILAND. WOMEN AND GIRLS AT RISK ARE OFFERED TRAINING IN SEWING SKILLS AND PROVIDED A WORKSHOP WITH THE TOOLS NECESSARY TO HONE SEAMSTRESS SKILLS IN PREPARATION FOR ENTERING THE MAINSTREAM WORKFORCE IN BANGKOK. THIS MINISTRY CONTINUES TO DRAW CANDIDATES AWAY FROM THE SEX TRADE AND INTO PRODUCTIVE LIFESTYLES.
