Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3

ACKC WAS FOUNDED IN ORDER TO INCREASE FEDERAL FUNDING FOR KIDNEY CANCER RESEARCH. WE SUCCESSFULLY REACHED OUR GOAL IN THAT, AT OUR BEHEST, CONGRESS ESTABLISHED THE KIDNEY CANCER RESEARCH PROGRAM (KCRP), WHICH, FROM THE YEAR OF ITS ESTABLISHMENT IN 2017 THROUGH FISCAL 2022, DISTRIBUTED GRANTS VALUED AT $185 MILLION. AFTER WE INITIATED THE CREATION OF KCRP, OTHER KIDNEY CANCER ORGANIZATIONS TOOK UP THE CAUSE TO ENSURE THAT THE PROGRAM CONTINUES. KCRP MOSTLY FUNDS PROJECTS SEEKING EFFECTIVE TREATMENT FOR METASTATIC KIDNEY CANCER. WE CONCENTRATE ON RAISING AWARENESS OF THE CAUSES OF KIDNEY CANCER, SUCH AS PFAS CHEMICALS, AND TO PROMOTE EFFORTS FOR EARLY DETECTION OF KIDNEY CANCER, GIVEN THAT THE SURVIVAL RATE FOR EARLY DETECTION IS HIGHER THAN THAT FOR PATIENTS WHOSE CANCER IS DETECTED AT A LATER STAGE.
