TO ENSURE THAT LITTLE TOKYO WOULD BE A VIABLE CENTER FOR THE JAPANESE AMERICAN COMMUNITY AND THE LOS ANGELES DOWNTOWN COMMUNITY. THE COUNCIL SHALL WORK TO CREATE A VISION OF WHAT LITTLE TOKYO SHOULD BE IN THE FUTURE AND SERVE AS AN ADVOCATE ON BEHALF OF THE LITTLE TOKYO COMMUNITY.

LITTLE TOKYO COMMUNITY COUNCIL ("LTCC") PROVIDED COMMUNICATION WITHIN LITTLE TOKYO AS WELL AS TO KEY ORGANIZATIONS IN THE LARGER COMMUNITY. LTCC MAINTAINED A MASTER COMMUNITY CALENDAR THAT WOULD PROMOTE LITTLE TOKYO ACTIVITIES AND PROGRAMS. LTCC REVIEWED AND MADE RECOMMENDATIONS AS APPROPRIATE ON PROPOSED PROJECTS WITHIN LITTLE TOKYO. LTCC MADE REFERRALS TO SPECIFIC ORGANIZATIONS FOR ACTION AS APPROPRIATE ON ISSUES AFFECTING OR INVOLVING THE LITTLE TOKYO COMMUNITY. LTCC PROVIDED MUTUAL SUPPORT TO VARIOUS ORGANIZATIONS, AND, AS APPROPRIATE, PROVIDED A PLACE FOR DISCUSSIONS AND/OR REVIEWS.


"GO LITTLE TOKYO" IS A LITTLE TOKYO COMMUNITY COUNCIL ("LTCC") PROJECT DEVELOPED AND PRODUCED BY COMMUNITY ARTS RESOURCES AND MADE POSSIBLE WITH SUPPORT FROM METRO. AS LOS ANGELES TRANSFORMS AND EXPANDS ITS MASS TRANSIT SYSTEM AND LITTLE TOKYO BECOMES EVEN MORE CONNECTED THROUGH THE CONSTRUCTION OF METRO'S REGIONAL CONNECTOR, THERE IS NO BETTER MOMENT TO GO LITTLE TOKYO AND EXPLORE ONE OF LOS ANGELES' MOST CULTURALLY RICH AND ENERGETIC URBAN NEIGHBORHOODS.
