TO RENDER MEANINGFUL SUPPORT TO THE CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES OF ACCION IN THE YUCATAN PENINSULA OF MEXICO WITH A VIEW OF ADVANCING THE WELL BEING OF THE PEOPLE SERVED AND THE CHRISTIAN FAITH.

SUPPORTED THE OPERATION AND IMPROVEMENTS TO THE MAYAN CHILDREN'S VILLAGE WHICH HOUSED 15 CHILDREN (10 BOYS AND 5 GIRLS) WHO WOULD OTHERWISE BE UNABLE TO ATTEND UPPER GRADE SCHOOL THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL. THE VILLAGE PROVIDES A HOME INCLUDING ROOM, BOARD AND SUPERVISION THAT INVOLVES THE CHILDREN MENTALLY, SPIRITUALLY, PHYSICALLY AND THRU SERVICE. IT IS EFFECTIVELY AN ORPHANAGE FOR A FEW. IT IS LOCATED IN EL IDEAL, QUINTANA ROO, MEXICO.


SUPPORTED THE OPERATION OF AND IMPROVEMENTS TO THE MERIDA STUDENT HOUSES WHICH HOUSE STUDENTS WHO WOULD OTHERWISE BE UNABLE TO ATTEND HIGHER EDUCATION. A NEW WOMEN'S HOUSE OPENED FOR FALL 2021, STARTING WITH 4 YOUNG WOMEN. IN 2022, THE WOMEN'S HOUSE SERVES 8 YOUNG WOMEN, AND THE MEN'S HOUSE SERVES 12 YOUNG MEN. THE MEN AND WOMEN ATTEND COLLEGES AND SEMINARIES, STUDYING ENGINEERING, HEALTH, TOURISM, BUSINESS, EDUCATION AND OTHER DEGREE CURRICULUMS. MERIDA STUDENT HOUSE PROVIDES A HOME INCLUDING ROOM, BOARD AND SUPERVISION. IN 2022, 3 SCHOLARSHIPS WERE PROVIDED FOR SCHOOL FEES AND EXPENSES.


SUPPORTED CONSTRUCTION ON CHURCHES, HOUSING OR MAYAN CHILDREN'S VILLAGE, IN COOPERATION WITH TEAMS OF VOLUNTEERS FROM U.S. CHURCHES. PROJECTS WERE IN SELECTED VILLAGES SCATTERED THROUGHOUT THE YUCATAN PENINSULA OF MEXICO. THEY BUILT OR IMPROVED HOMES FOR POOR FAMILIES; WORKED WITH MEXICAN PRESBYTERIAN COGREGATIONS TO BUILD OR IMPROVE CHURCH FACILITIES; OR COMPLETED IMPROVEMENTS TO THE MAYAN CHILDREN'S VILLAGE. IN 2022, TWO TEAMS, COMPRISING 29 VOLUNTEERS, COMPLETED PROJECTS IN DIFFERENT VILLAGES OF THE YUCATAN.
