PROVIDING SUMMER HEALTH EDUCATION AND FITNESS FOR YOUTH
PROVIDING FOOD RESOURCES TO ASSURE THAT ALL NEIGHBORS HAD SUFFICIENT FOOD. THIS WAS ACCOMPLISHED BY OPERATING THE EASTSIDE FOOD PANTRY.
STIMULATING COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT IN LOW-INCOME SECTIONS OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD TO EMPOWER RESIDENTS TO WORK TOGETHER TO IMPROVE THEIR OWN LIVES. THIS INVOLVED PLACING A COMMUNITY ORGANIZER WITHIN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH RESIDENTS TO DETERMINE PRIORITY NEEDS AND POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS TO THE NEEDS.
