THE CORPORATION WAS FORMED TO PROVIDE AND FACILITATE CLINICAL INSTRUCTION OF STUDENTS AT THE COLLEGE OF MEDICINE BY THE DEPARTMENT'S FACULTY MEMBERS. CLINICAL INSTRUCTION, REFERS TO TEACHING MEDICAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & PROCEDURES TO STUDENTS.
UPSTATE GASTROENTEROLOGY, LLC IS A SINGLE-MEMBER LLC OWNED 100% BY DEPT. OF MEDICINE MEDICAL SERVICE GROUP. THEIR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE A PRACTICE SITE FOR THE ACADEMIC GASTROENTEROLOGISTS AT UPSTATE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY TO DO PROCEDURES. BEING CERTIFIED AS AN AMBULATORY SURGERY CENTER SUBJECTS THE SITE TO HIGHER DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH STANDARDS AND THEREFORE BETTER CARE.
