TO INCREASE AND ELEVATE THE LEVEL OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH BY BLACK SURGEONS WHO ARE ALSO IN THE FIELD OF ACADEMICS. TO IMPROVE HEALTH, ADVANCE SCIENCE, AND FOSTER CAREERS OF AFRICAN AMERICAN AND OTHER UNDERREPRESENTED MINORITY SURGEONS.

ANNUAL MEETING-ANNUAL MEETING ALLOWS SURGEONS IN THE FIELD OF ACADEMICS TO SHARE WITH THEIR PEERS, SCIENTIFIC DATA AND TECHNIQUES THEY HAVE RESEARCHED AND DEVELOPED. IT ALSO ALLOWS INSTITUTIONS AND COMMERCIAL COMPANIES THE OPORTUNITY TO SHARE THEIR LATEST PROGRAMS AND PRODUCTS WITH ACADEMIC SURGEONS. TOTAL ATTENDEES AT 2022 MEETING WAS APPROXIMATELY 364.


EXECUTIVE COACHING PROGRAM, PROMISING LEADERS PROGRAM, MYANONYMOUS APP, ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN SURGEONS HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM. PROGRAMS ORIENTED TO, TRAINING AND REFINING THE MANAGEMENT AND PERSONAL INTERACTION SKILLS OF ESTABLISHED MEMBERS IN THE MEDICAL EDUCATIONAL FIELD, GUIDENCE TO UP AND COMING ADVANCEMENT MOTIIVATED MEMBERS TO ENSURE THE CONTINUANCE OF THE STANDARDS OF THE SOCIETY AND THE PROFESSION, OUTREACH TO HIGH SCHOOL WOMEN WITH AN INTEREST IN SURGERY AND MEDICINE.


CREATION AND MAINTENANCE OF WEBSITE FOR MEMBERS AND NON-MEMBERS ENABLEING THEM TO MEET EACH OTHER TO EXCHANGE IDEAS, INFORMATION, AND RESEARCH. THE WEBSITE IS ALSO USED TO KEEP ALL INTERESTED PARTIES ABREAST OF THE EVENTS AND NEWS OF, AND SURROUNDING, THE ORGANIZATION ALONG WITH DEVELOPMENTS IN THE FIELD OF ACADEMIC MEDICINE. MEMBERS, FOR A FEE, POST JOB OPENINGS FOR PROFESSIONALS IN THE FIELD OF ACADEMIC SURGERY AND MEDICINE.


DONATIONS GIVEN TO MEDICAL SCHOOLS, UNIVERSITIES, AND INDIVIDUALS IN THE FIELD OF MEDICAL ACADEMICS FOR THE BENEFIT OF MINORITY STUDENTS ATTENDING AND PARTICIPATING IN MEDICAL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS. AWARDEES ARE CHOSEN BY A COMMITTE WHICH IS ASSEMMBLED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS.
