SOMA'S MAIN ACTIVITY IS THE PRODUCTION OF AT LEAST ONE MEDICAL CONFERENCE TO BE HELD ANNUALLY, WHICH IS TYPICALLY THE SPECIAL OPERATIONS MEDICAL SCIENTIFIC ASSEMBLY (SOMSA). THE SOMSA IS FOR ALL MILITARY MEMBERS AND QUALIFIED CIVILIAN PROVIDERS INTERESTED IN SPECIAL OPERATIONS AND TACTICAL MEDICINE AND INVITED GUESTS.
SOMA PERIODICALLY ORGANIZES SOMA SYMPOSIUM AROUND THE COUNTRY TO HELP EDUCATE AND CREATE AWARENESS FOR OUR TARGET AUDIENCE.
MEMBERS OF SOMA RECEIVE THE QUARTERLY JOURNAL OF SPECIAL OPERATIONS MEDICINE (JSOM). THE JSOM IS A PEER-REVIEW JOURNAL DEDICATED TO ENSURING THE PROFESSIONAL GROWTH AND SUCCESS OF SPECIAL OPERATIONS MEDICAL PERSONNEL. ONGOING ARTICLE SERIES INCLUDES HUMAN PERFORMANCE OPTIMIZATION, INJURY PREVENTION, THE WORLD OF SPECIAL OPERATIONS MEDICINE AND TACTICAL MEDICINE PERSPECTIVE.
