SINCE ITS FOUNDING 31 YEARS AGO BY FORMER ROCHESTER, NEW YORK CITY MANAGER TED CURTIS, HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE OF ALL AGES AND BACKGROUNDS HAVE EXPERIENCED THE ERIE CANAL AND GENESEE RIVER ABOARD CORN HILL NAVIGATION'S VESSEL, SAM PATCH. ANNUAL RIDERSHIP GREW 40% IN THE TEN YEARS LEADING UP TO A RECORD-SETTING 2019 SEASON, WHEN MORE THAN 15,000 PASSENGERS FROM ALL 50 STATES AND 57 FOREIGN COUNTRIES EXPERIENCED THE CANAL ABOARD SAM PATCH, INCLUDING 2,300 STUDENTS FROM SCHOOLS ACROSS THE REGION.
