LIKE MUCH OF THE REST OF THE COUNTRY, THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC CONTINUED TO IMPACT OUR ABILITY TO CARRY OUT SERVICES AND WE HAD TO MODIFY AGENCY OPERATIONS AND SERVICE DELIVERY DURING THE LAST HALF OF THE YEAR. DESPITE RETURNING TO FULL OPERATIONS IN AUGUST 2020, INCLUDING HOME VISITS, WE WERE FORCED TO RETURN TO VIRTUAL VISITS IN NOVEMBER 2020 DUE TO A COVID SPIKE IN ERIE COUNTY AND DID NOT RETURN TO IN-PERSON VISITS UNTIL MARCH 2021. A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE BPPN STAFF FOR THEIR UNTIRING DEDICATION TO THEIR WORK AND THE SUPPORT AND ASSISTANCE THEY PROVIDE TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES EACH AND EVERY DAY. THE PANDEMIC HAS HAD A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT ON OUR AGENCY, MODIFYING AND/OR DELAYING SOME SERVICES AND CONVERSION OF OUR MAJOR FUNDRAISING EVENT, GREAT BABY BEGINNINGS TO A VIRTUAL PLATFORM. WE ARE VERY GRATEFUL AND ELATED TO SHARE THAT WHEN THE MAJORITY OF LOCAL BUISNESSES THAT COMMITTED TO BEING SPONSORS LEARNED OF OUR NEED TO CONVERT TO A VIRTUAL EVENT, THEY CONTINUED TO SUPPORT BPPN BY CONTINUING THEIR SPONSORSHIP COMMITMENT.2020-2021 PERFORMANCE: THE VOLUME OF SERVICES PROVIDED BY BPPN STAFF (OF 46) WAS ESPECIALLY IMPRESSIVE THIS PAST YEAR AS WE SURPASSED 1300 FOR THE NUMBER OF CLEINTS SERVED THROUGH OUR 4 PROGRAM AREAS.
