BASIC MEDICAL RESEARCH: IN 2023, BVARI ENGAGED IN 19 BASIC RESEARCH PROJECTS THAT EXPLORED A BROAD RANGE OF VETERAN-RELATED RESEARCH QUESTIONS, INCLUDING THOSE RELATED TO ONCOLOGY, ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE, VISION, AND MENTAL HEALTH. MANY OF THESE ARE MULTI-YEAR PROJECTS AND WILL BE CONTINUED FOR SEVERAL YEARS.
ALL OTHER RESEARCH ACITIVITIES.
CLINICAL RESEARCH: IN 2023, BVARI ACTIVELY ENGAGED IN 41 CLINICAL RESEARCH PROJECTS WITH THE GOAL OF IMPROVING THE HEALTH AND HEALTHCARE OF VETERANS. CLINICAL TRIALS RANGED FROM INVESTIGATOR-INITIATED PROJECTS TO PHASE III DRUG EFFICACY STUDIES. CLINICAL TRIALS TEST THE NEWEST THERAPIES AVAILABLE FOR A RANGE OF HEALTH ISSUES AFFECTING VETERAN PATIENTS, INCLUDING THOSE RELATED TO CANCER, GENOMICS, CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE, SCHIZOPHRENIA, DIABETES, AND GENERAL MEDICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL ISSUES.
EDUCATION: IN 2023, BVARI SUPPORTED 10 EDUCATIONAL EVENTS AND PROGRAMS THAT IMPROVE THE LIVES OF VETERANS AND ENHANCE THE SKILLS OF THE HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS AND TRAINEES WHO CARE FOR THEM.
