BASIC MEDICAL RESEARCH: IN 2021 BVARI ACTIVELY ENGAGED IN 29 BASIC CLINICAL AND BOPMEDICAL RESEARCH PROJECTS. A BROAD RANGE OF VETERAN RELATED RESEARCH QUESTIONS ARE BEING PURSUED IN THESE VA APROVED RESEARCH PROJECTS, INCLUDING POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER (PTSD), ONCOLOGY, OBESITY, INFORMATICS, MENTAL HEALTH, PSYCHOLOGICAL, AND SOCIAL IMPACT OF WARS AMONG ACTIVE DUTY MILIATY PERSONNEL, AND RELATIONSHIP AGGRESSION. MANY OF THESE ARE MULTI-YEAR PROJECTS AND WILL BE CONTINUED FOR SEVERAL YEARS.
CLINICAL RESEARCH: IN 2021 BVARI ACTIVELY ENGAGED IN 39 HUAMN SUBJECT CLINICAL RESEARCH PROJECTS WITH THE GOAL OF IMPROVING THE HEALTH AND HEALTHCARE OF THE VETERAN POPULATION. THE CLINICAL TRIALS RANGE FROM INVESTIGATOR INITIATED PROJECTS TO THE STUDY OF DRUG DOSING AND EFFECTIVENESS. CLINICAL TRIALS TEST THE NEWEST THERAPIES AVAILABLE FOR A RANGE OF MEDICAL ISSUES AFFECTING OUR VETERAN PATIENTS. THESE VA APPROVED TRIALS CONCENTRATE ON MANY MEDICAL CONDITIONS, INCLUDING CANCER, OBESITY, OSTEOPEROSIS, DIABETES, GASTROINTESTINAL CONDITIONS, AND GENERAL MEDICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL ISSUES.
EDUCATION: IN 2021 BVARI SUPPORTED 6 EDUCATIONAL EVENTS AND PROGRAMS THAT IMPROVE THE LIVES OF OUR NATIONS VETERANS AS WELL AS THE HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS AND TRAINEES WHO CARE FOR THEM. WE COORDINATE AND FACILITATE ATTENDANCE AT SEMINARS, LECTURES, TRAININGS, CONFERENCES, AND ON-GOING EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS FOR THE VETERANS, THEIR DIRECT CARE PROVIDERS, HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS, AND TRAINEES.
