THE THREE YEAR OLD NURSERY SCHOOL CURRICULUM IS DESIGNED TO MEET DEVELOPMENTALLY AGE APPROPRIATE COGNITIVE, SOCIAL AND BEHAVORIAL OBJECTIVES. A CLASS OF UP TO 12 CHILDREN MEETS FIVE TIMES A WEEK FOR 2.5 HOURS A DAY. THROUGH SPECIAL EVENTS (FUNDRAISING) MONEY IS RAISED TO COVER SHORTFALLS IN TUITION SO THAT NO CHILD IS TURNED AWAY DUE TO INABILITY TO PAY. THE NURSERY SCHOOL STAFF PROVIDES DAYCARE SERVICES FOR BOTH THE NURSERY SCHOOL AND THE UPK PROGRAM.
UPK OBJECTIVES ARE THE SAME AS ABOVE EXCEPT AGE APPROPRIATE FOR FOUR YEAR OLDS. SIX SESSIONS OF 15 - 18 STUDENTS MEETS 5 DAYS PER WEEK, 2.5 HOURS A DAY. THE PROGRAM IS FREE TO CHILDREN WHO LIVE IN THE UTICA CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT AND IS FUNDED BY A GRANT THOUGH THE UTICA CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT.
