NORTHEASTERN FOREST PRODUCTS EQUIPMENT EXPOSITION - OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE LOGGERS' EXPO, IS THE PREMIER FOREST PRODUCTS INDUSTRY TRADE SHOW IN THE NORTHEASTERN US. THE LOGGERS' EXPO ALTERNATES BETWEEN BANGOR, MAINE IN ODD YEARS AND ESSEX JUNCTION, VERMONT IN EVEN YEARS. THE SHOW IS ANNUALLY LISTED AMONG THE 100 LARGEST EXHIBITIONS IN THE UNITED STATES.THE LOGGERS' EXPO TYPICALLY FEATURES 200-250 EXHIBITING COMPANIES AND ATTRACTS A RANGE OF 5,000 TO 7,000 ATTENDEES COMPRISED MAINLY OF ACTIVE INDUSTRY DECISION-MAKERS. IT SERVES TO CREATE A SENSE OF COMMUNITY IN AN INDUSTRY THAT PRIMARILY WORKS IN REMOTE LOCALES IN THE REGION'S FORESTS BY OFFERING PROFILES OF LOGGERS AND SAWMILLERS IN THE REGION, BY UPDATING READERS ON SAFETY PROCEDURES AND TIPS TO HELP THEM AVOID INJURY, BY PROVIDING TIMELY REPORTING ON PENDING LEGISLATION REGARDING THE INDUSTRY AND BY PROVIDING AND AVENUE FOR READER COMMENT AND DISCUSSION.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING PROGRAMS - NELA PRODUCES A VARIETY OF SEMINARS AND WORKSHOPS IN STRATEGIC LOCATIONS AROUND THE NORTHESAT. THESE SESSIONS DEAL WITH PRODUCTIVITY, EFFICIENCY, BUSINESS, TAX AND REGULATORY ISSUES AND SAFETY AS THEY APPLY TO THE FOREST PRODUCTS INDUSTRY. NELA SEMINARS, IN ADDITION TO DELIVERING TIMELY AND IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO LOGGERS AND SAWMILLERS IN THE REGION, ALLOW MEMBERS OF THE FOREST PRODUCTS COMMUNITY TO INTERACT WITH ONE ANOTHER ON AN INFORMAL BASIS.
