QUALIFIED IMPORTERS PROGRAM - THE ASSOCIATION IS QUALIFIED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE QUALIFIED IMPORTERS PROGRAM ("QIP") UNDER THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE'S DAIRY PROMOTION AND RESEARCH ORDER. THE QIP IS ADMINISTERED BY THE NATIONAL DAIRY PROMOTION AND RESEARCH BOARD AND SUPPORTS THE INCREASE OF CONSUMPTION OF MILK AND OTHER DAIRY PRODUCTS THROUGH PROMOTION, RESEARCH AND NUTRITION EDUCATION. THE ASSOCIATION RECEIVES A PORTION OF THE DAIRY IMPORT ASSESSMENT TAX PAID BY ITS MEMBERS. THE ASSOCIATION DOES NOT USE BRAND NAMES OR TRADE NAMES ON ITS QIP WEBSITE OR IN GENERAL PUBLICATIONS FOR THE PUBLIC.
PROGRAM INITIATIVES AND EVENTS - THE ASSOCIATION HAS NUMEROUS NETWORKING EVENTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THEIR MEMBERS THAT VARY FROM YEAR TO YEAR. THE ASSOCIATION ALSO PUBLISHES A YEARBOOK EVERY TWO YEARS, WHICH IS THE WHO'S WHO OF THE CHEESE IMPORTING INDUSTRY, AND IS THE PREMIER REFERENCE GUIDE FOR KEY INFORMATION VITAL TO UNDERSTANDING THE EVER-CHANGING RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE BUSINESS. THE MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY IS A MEMBERS ONLY PUBLICATION THAT HAS ADVERTISEMENTS OF MEMBER COMPANIES. THE ASSOCIATION ALSO ENGAGES IN GOVERNMENT RELATIONS WORK.
