THE ORGANIZATION BELIEVES THAT INSTITUTIONALIZED CHILDREN MUST BE INTEGRATED INTO THEIR OWN COMMUNITIES AND CULTURES, AND TO THAT END, ALL OF THE ORGANIZATION'S PROGRAMS INCLUDE ORPHANS AND CHILDREN FROM THE LOCAL AREAS.

IN BULGARIA - WWO HAS ESTABLISHED A NETWORK OF PARTNERSHIPS ACROSS THE COUNTRY WITH GOVERNMENT AND COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATIONS WHO WORK IN THE FIELD OF EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT AND EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION. WWO PROVIDES TRAINING, COACHING AND ONGOING SUPPORT TO PARTNER STAFF TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF CHILDREN ACCESSING SERVICES AND TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF PROGRAMS CHILDREN ARE RECEIVING.IN ETHIOPIA, PROGRAMS AND TRAINING FOCUS ON EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION,PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT, AND POSITIVE YOUTH DEVELOPMENT. WWO WORKS WITH 6 GOVERNMENT PRESCHOOLSTRAINING TEACHERS TO IMPLEMENT ELEMENT OF PLAY FOR CHILDREN AGES 3-6 YEARS. WWO ALSO PROVIDES CARE AND SUPPORT FOR YOUTH LIVING WITH HIV AND REMAINS COMMITTED TO THESE SPECIFIC CHILDREN UNTIL THEY ARE ABLE TO COMPLETETHEIR EDUCATION AND EARN THEIR OWN INCOME. IN HAITI, PROGRAMS FOCUS ONCOMMUNITY-BASED EARLY INTERVENTION LEARNING SPACES FOR CHILDREN (AND THEIR CAREGIVERS) AND WORKS WITH 5 PRESCHOOLS. THESE PROGRAMS AND TRAINING CREATEOPPORTUNITIES FOR PLAY-BASED LEARNING, SOCIAL CONNECTION, AND EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT. IN VIETNAM, WWO PLAYS A LEADING ROLE IN PROVIDING CAMP PROGRAMS FOR CHILDREN LIVING WITH, AND AFFECTED BY, HIV/AIDS AND/OR CANCER IN RESIDENTIALCARE FACILITIES. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO WORKS IN THE COMMUNITY TO PROVIDE PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT PROJECTS FOR CHILDREN AND CAREGIVERS UTILIZING A CASE MANAGEMENT APPROACH.
