EDUCATION: OUR EDUCATION PROGRAM WORKS TO ENSURE THAT THERE CAN BE EDUCATED LEADERS, DOCTORS, ENGINEERS AND SKILLED WORKERS IN THE NEXT GENERATION. THROUGH OUR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM, WE ARE ENSURING THAT THE NEXT GENERATION RECEIVES THE EDUCATION THEY DESERVE. IN NICARAGUA, WE GAVE SCHOLARSHIPS TO 58 COLLEGE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, AND MENTORED THEM THROUGH THEIR STUDIES. BUILT A SCHOOL FOR THE IMPOVERISHED VILLAGE OF LA GUAMA, IN THE INTERIOR OF THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC. WE ALSO HAVE LATRINES IN THIS VILLAGE. GOAL IS TO IMPROVE THE COMMUNITY THROUGH IMPROVED HOUSING, EDUCATION, AND HEALTH.
HEALTH: BRIDGES TO COMMUITY'S HEALTH PROGRAM STRIVES TO REMOVE THE OBSTACLES THAT IMPOVERISHED FAMILIES FACE AS THEY TRY TO ACHIEVE A BETTER FUTURE. WITH A FOCUS ON PREVENTATIVE CARE AS WELL AS IMPROVEMENTS TO INFRASTRUCTURE, OUR PROJECTS RANGE FROM EDUCATION WORKSHOPS TO THE CONSTRUCTION AND REPAIR OF HEALTH CENTERS. WE IMPROVE FAMILY LIVING STANDARDS, REDUCING DISEASE AND CHILD MORTALITY. WE DESIGN AND BUILD HYGIENIC LATRINES TO IMPROVE SANITATION AND INSTALL HGIH-EFFICIENCY INDOOR STOVES TO REDUCE ILLNESSES. BRIDGES ALSO PROVIDES PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES IN UNDERSERVED RURAL COMMUNITIES.
HOUSING: BRIDGES TO COMMUNITY BUILDS STURDY CINDERBLOCK HOMES THAT ARE EARTHQUAKE RESISTANT AND ARE DESIGNED TO WITHSTAND YEARS OF HEAVY WINDS AND RAIN. BRIDGES WORKS TO SECURE LAND TITLES FOR THE OWNERS SO THAT FAMILIES HAVE A PLACE TO CALL THEIR OWN FOR GENERATIONS. DUE TO VOLUNTEER TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS RELATED TO COVID-19, BRDIGES TO COMMUNITY PRIORITIZED THE CONSTRUCTION OF EDUCATION FACILITIES AND DID NOT CONSTRUCT HOUSING IN 2021.
