THE AGENCY OPERATES THREE HOMELESS SHELTERS FUNDED BY VARIOUS NYC GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES. ALL RESIDENTS ARE PROVIDED SHELTER, FOOD AND ARE ASSISTED WITH FINDING PERMANENT HOUSING. SUSAN'S PLACE IS OPERATED IN CONJUNCTION WITH CARE FOR THE HOMELESS SERVICES, INC AND IS LOCATED ON JEROME AVE IN THE BRONX. THE SHELTER SERVES MENTALLY ILL HOMELESS WOMEN. PARADISE RESIDENCE IS LOCATED ON THE GRAND CONCOURSE IN THE BRONX. THE SHELTER SERVES 57 HOMELESS MEN LIVING WITH AIDS. SIENA HOUSE IS LOCATED ON 168TH ST IN THE BRONX AND SERVES 27 PREGNANT WOMEN AND WOMEN WITH CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 3. THE GOAL FOR ALL THREE SHELTERS IS TO ASSIST THE RESIDENTS IN FINDING PERMANENT HOUSING AND TO PROVIDE THEM WITH SERVICES TO HELP THEM LIVE INDEPENDENTLY.
THE AGENCY OPERATES A DAY CARE CENTER AND EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN AGES 3-5. THE CENTER OFFERS A SAFE PLACE FOR CHILDREN TO PLAY AND LEARN SOCIALIZATION AND COGNITIVE SKILLS AT AN AFFORDABLE RATE. FEES ARE BASED ON THE PARENTS INCOME. THE DAY CARE PROGRAM IS YEAR ROUND AND IS FUNDED BY THE NYC AGENCY FOR CHILDRENS SERVICES. THE CENTER ALSO OPERATES A PRE-K PROGRAM FOR 4 YEAR OLD CHILDREN IN THE COMMUNITY FROM SEPT TO JUNE. THE PRE-K PROGRAM IS FUNDED BY THE NYC BOARD OF EDUCATION. BOTH PROGRAMS PROVIDE FREE MEALS AND SNACKS TO THE CHILDREN.
