TO PROVIDE WELFARE SERVICES TO PEOPLE LIVING IN AND AROUND NEW YORK CITY TO IMPROVE THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE.

THE HOTLINE PROGRAM ASSISTED 1,270 CLIENTS (838 NON-SENIOR CLIENTS AND 432 SENIOR CLIENTS). TO ASSIST THEM, A TOTAL OF 6,925 CONTACTS WERE MADE.


THE COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM AIMS TO PROVIDE PUBLIC EDUCATION AND TO ASSIST THE PUBLIC IN OBTAINING INFORMATION RELATIVE TO JASSIS PROGRAMS/ACTIVITIES. PUBLIC RELATIONS ARE PROVIDED VIA SEMI-ANNUAL NEWSLETTERS (JASSI REPORTS), E-NEWSLETTERS, AND SOCIAL MEDIA (FACEBOOK & TWITTER), AND COMMUNITY ONLINE BULLETIN BOARDS.


THE SENIOR PROGRAM HAD APPROXIMATELY 470 ACTIVE SENIOR MEMBERS IN THE FISCAL YEAR 2021. STAFF PROVIDED CASE ASSISTANCE, FRIENDLY VISITS, HOSPITAL ESCORT SERVICES, ASSURANCE CALL SERVICES, EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS AND SEMINARS, DISTRIBUTION OF FREE TICKETS TO CULTURAL EVENTS AND JAPANESE SUPERMARKETS GIFT CERTIFICATES FOR LOW-INCOME SENIOR CITIZENS, PUBLICATION OF NEWSLETTERS AND E-NEWSLETTERS WITH INFORMATION TAILORED TO SENIOR CITIZENS, YEAR-END GIFT (TOSHIKOSHI SOBA), AND GIFT CARD DISTRIBUTION PROJECT FOR NYC RESIDENTS. JASSI ALSO OFFERED ACTIVITIES & EVENTS SUCH AS MONTHLY SUPPORT GROUP/WEEKLY REMOTE GATHERING (TEA PARTY) DURING THE PANDEMIC.


THE CAREGIVER PROGRAM (OR, OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES ON F990) SERVED 8 CLIENTS IN THE FISCAL YEAR 2021. STAFF PROVIDED INTENSE CASE MANAGEMENT, SUPPLEMENT SERVICES, RESPITE CARE, SUPPORT GROUPS, AND BENEFIT ASSISTANCE.
