FOLLOWED BY BLACK HISTORY MONTH PRESENTATION OF THREE PLAYS: THE MEETING BY JEFF STETSON, WHEN THE CHICKENS CAME HOME TO ROOST BY LAURENCE HOLDER, AND WIDOWS BY MFUNDI VUNDLA. IN MARCH, NFT CELEBRATED WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH WITH PRESENTATIONS OF HOSPICE BY PEARL CLEAGE, AND MA ROSE BY CASSANDRA MEDLEY, ENDING WITH THE NTOZAKE SHANGE READING SERIES, TUESDAYS IN JUNE WITH LAST NIGHT AT MIKELL'S BY LARRY MUHAMMAD, A SOFT ESCAPE BY SM SHEPHARD MASSAT, AND A SMALL WORLD BY MUSTAPHA MATURA.NEW FEDERAL THEATRE ALSO CONDUCTS ACTING WORKSHOPS WHICH PROVIDE PARTICIPANTS WITH ACTING TECHNIQUES, VOICE, AND DICTION, MOVEMENT, SCENE STUDY, IMPROVISATIONS, AND SCRIPT ANALYSIS, AND PLAYWRITING WORKSHOPS WHICH INCLUDE READING OF THE PARTICIPANTS' PLAYS AND CRITIQUES DURING THE CLASSES, TO ENCOURAGE PLAYWRIGHTS TO "WRITE AND TO BUILD CONFIDENCE ABOUT THEIR STYLES AND VOICES.
