SITUATED ON THE BANKS OF THE HUDSON RIVER IN YONKERS, NEW YORK, THE HUDSON RIVER MUSEUM'S MISSION IS TO ENGAGE, INSPIRE, AND CONNECT DIVERSE COMMUNITIES THROUGH THE POWER OF THE ARTS, SCIENCES, AND HISTORY.

PUBLIC PROGRAMS: BOTH VIRTUAL AND ONSITE, INCLUDES LECTURES, WORKSHOPS, CONCERTS, SEMINARS, PERFORMANCES AND PRESENTATIONS TO VISITORS ON A REGULAR BASIS AS WELL AS WORK WITH UNDERSERVED COMMUNITY GROUPS TO DEVELOP PROGRAMS OF SIGNIFICANT INTEREST TO THOSE COMMUNITIES AND PROVIDE ACCESS TO THEM. ALSO INCLUDES ALL OF THE FUNCTIONS NECESSARY TO OPERATE THE MUSEUM'S PROGRAMS ON A 7-DAY-A-WEEK BASIS INCLUDING MAINTENANCE OF EXHIBITIONS, SECURITY OF EXHIBITIONS AND COLLECTIONS, AND VISITOR SERVICES, TOGETHER WITH ACTIVITIES RELATED TO THE UPGRADE AND EXPANSION OF GALLERIES AND PROGRAM FACILITIES.


EXHIBITIONS & CURATORIAL: EXHIBIT, INTERPRET AND RESEARCH COLLECTIONS INCLUDING ART AND HISTORICAL OBJECTS. MAINTAIN, INTERPRET, RESEARCH GLENVIEW, 1876 HOUSE LISTED ON NATIONAL HISTORIC REGISTER. DEVELOPED AND PRESENTED SPECIAL EXHIBITIONS INCLUDING COLLECTION SPOTLIGHT: STORIED QUILTS FROM THE HUDSON RIVER MUSEUM; WALL POWER! SPECTACULAR QUILTS FROM THE AMERICAN FOLK ART MUSEUM; RICHARD HAAS: CIRCLES IN SPACE; JACK STUPPIN: THE BEGINNING OF MY WORLD; AFRICAN AMERICAN ART IN THE TWENTIETH CENTURY (SMITHSONIAN AMERICAN ART MUSEUM); JAMEL ROBINSON: BEAUTY FROM ASHES; THE WORLD OF FRIDA (BEDFORD GALLERY); FRIDA KAHLO IN CONTEXT: LANDSCAPE ART & VIRTUAL TRAVEL: HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE COLLECTIONS OF THE HRM AND ART BRIDGES.


EDUCATION: DEVELOPS PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCES FOR ALL AGES INCLUDING K-12 SCHOOL CHILDREN AND COLLEGE STUDENTS (IN-PERSON AND VIRTUALLY). DEVELOPS AND PRESENTS PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE IN-SERVICE TRAINING FOR TEACHERS. WORKS CLOSELY WITH PARTNER SCHOOLS TO DEVELOP CURRICULUM WITH THE SCHOOLS. MAINTAINS A JUNIOR DOCENT PROGRAM, A DEDICATED LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAM FOR PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS THAT FOCUSES ON SKILL DEVELOPMENT, COLLEGE READINESS, AND INCLUDES MENTORSHIPS AT THE MUSEUM.
