THE NVA MAINTAINS DISTRICT CLEANLINESS WITH DAILY SWEEPING AS WELL AS PERIODIC HOT STEAM CLEANINGS. THE NVA MAINTAINS AND IMPROVES VARIOUS TREE AND GARDEN SITES; INSTALLS NEW PARKLETS; AND PRODUCES NUMEROUS ANNUAL SEASONAL EVENTS THAT STRENGTHEN THE COMMUNITY.

TWO NVA STREET PORTERS WORK SEVEN DAYS A WEEK TO SWEEP AND WEED SIDEWALKS AND GUTTERS, WATER 24 FLOWER BASKETS, REMOVE GRAFFITI AND FLIERS, EMPTY OVERFILLED PUBLIC TRASH RECEPTACLES, CALL 311 FOR REMOVAL OF LARGE BULKY ITEMS LEFT ON THE SIDEWALK, ETC. PRESSURE WASHING OF ALL DISTRICT SIDEWALKS TAKES PLACE NINE TIMES A YEAR. A PART-TIME GARDENER MAINTAINS THE HEALTH AND VITALITY OF OPEN SIDEWALK GARDENS, PLANTER BOXES, FLOWER BASKETS, AND OTHER NEIGHBORHOOD STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS.
