SUMMER FEEDING PROGRAM PROVIDES LOW-INCOME FAMILIES TRANSPORTATION, MEALS AND A SAFE HAVEN FOR YOUTH AT NO COST TO PARENTS DURING THE MONTHS OF JUNE THRU AUGUST. AN ESTIMATE OF 1,255 KIDS BENEFITED FROM THIS PROGRAM, WITH OVER 2,230 MEALS BEING SERVED WITH A CONTINUED GROWTH EACH YEAR.
TAKE IT TO THE STREETS YOUTH TOURNAMENT IS A COMMUNITY EVENT FOR FAMILIES HELD THE THIRD WEEKEND OF JULY PROVIDING HEALTH AND SAFETY INFORMATION, FREE MEAL AND ENTERTAINMENT. AN ESTIMATE OF 265 PEOPLE IS SERVED IN THE COMMUNITY.
THE GRIP AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM PROVIDES STUDENTS OF LOW-INCOME FAMILY'S HOMEWORK TUTORING, LIFE SKILLS AND A NUTRITIONAL MEAL TWICE A WEEK DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR WHERE APPROXIMATELY 17 STUDENTS BENEFITED. THEY ARE ALSO GIVEN A MENTOR WHO MONITORS THEIR GRADES, BEHAVIOR AND OTHER ISSUES THAT ARE FORESEEN.
