THE GREATER WAVERLY FOUNDATION WAS ESTABLISHED TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES SUCH AS VIRTUAL TUTORING COMPUTER ACCESS CLASSES HOMEWORK ASSISTANCE AND FINANCE MANAGEMENT TO FAMILIES; TO REDUCE FOOD VULNERABILITY IN A COMMUNITY DECLARED A FOOD DESERT BY THE DEPT OF AGRICULTURE THROUGH A WEEKLY FOOD BANK AND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMMUNITY GARDEN; AND TO PRESENT HISTORICAL INFORMATION CELEBRATIONS AT A LOW COST TO THE SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES.

THE PROJECT WAS A SUCCESS THAT IT WAS WELL ATTENDED 155 PERSONS OF VARIOUS ETHNICITIES AND AGES. THERE WERE COOLING STATIONS TO MAKE THE JUNE HEATTOLERABLE. THERE WERE BOOKSFOR ADULTS ANDTRAINING FOR CHILDREN REGARDING THE HISTORY OF JUNETEENTH. FOOD WAS PROVIDED SENIORS AND YOUTH. THE HISTORIC COLUMBIA 63 AS WELL AS BEAUFORT COUNTY ARCHIVES PRESENTED EDUCATIONAL MATERIAL. INFOR
HE GREATER WAVERLY FOUNDATION SUMMER CAMP IS EXCITED TO OFFER THE VILLAGE INITIATIVE SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM THAT SUPPORTS YOUNG PEOPLE TO HELP STUDENTS ENGAGE IN THEIR STUDIES AND INCREASE ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE. THE STUDENTS IN THE SUMMER CAMP PARTICIPATE IN AN INTERACTIVE EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE DESIGNED TO INFORM ENGAGE ENTERTAIN AND EDUCATE. OUR CAMP COMPREHENSIVELY EXAMINES MATH SCIENCE READING CURSIVE WRITING LANGUAGE AND CULTURAL ARTS. THESE STRATEGIES ENHANCE THE IN-CLASS LEARNING EXPERIENCE HELP STUDENTS IMPROVE TEST SCORES READING AND WRITING SKILLS AND SPEAK AND LISTEN EFFECTIVELY.
