THE ORGANIZATION IS DEDICATED TO INCREASING THE KNOWLEDGE, UNDERSTANDING, AND APPRECIATION OF THE HISTORY OF CIRCUS, SIDESHOW, VAUDEVILLE, AND RELATED ARTS THROUGH ACTIVITIES INCLUDING PERFORMANCES, LECTURES, PRINT MEDIA, AND WORKSHOPS FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC.

BINDLESTIFF FAMILY VARIETY ARTS ("BINDLESTIFF") IS ONE OF THE OLDEST, CONTINUING CIRCUS COMPANIES IN NEW YORK CITY. THE ORGANIZATION BRINGS A UNIQUE HYBRID OF VAUDEVILLE, CIRCUS, WILD WEST SHOWS, BURLESQUE, AND SIDESHOW TO VARIOUS THEATERS, CLUBS, COLLEGES, AND FESTIVALS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. IN 2019, THE ORGANIZATION HAD OVER 250 PERFORMANCES FOR OVER 70,000 AUDIENCE MEMBERS, UTILIZING THE SKILLS OF OVER 400 PERFORMANCE ARTISTS. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO CREATES EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS TEACHING CIRCUS ARTS. BINDLESTIFF OFFERS SEVERAL HANDS-ON WORKSHOPS AND LEARNING PROGRAMS, FROM AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS TO SUMMER CAMP EXPERIENCES, FROM A YOUTH MENTORING PROGRAM TO A YOUTH CIRCUS ARTS FESTIVAL. DURING 2019, OVER 290 YOUTH ARTISTS ENROLLED IN THESE PROGRAMS. IN 2019 THE ORGANIZATION HOSTED THE NEW YORK REGIONAL AMERICAN YOUTH CIRCUS ORGANIZATION FESTIVAL AND THE PRODUCED THE ANNUAL NYC UNICYCLE FESTIVAL.
