THE ORGANIZATION IS A DISTRICT MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION ESTABLISHED PURSUANT TO GENERAL MUNICIPAL LAW SECT. 980-M TO CARRY OUT THE ACTIVITIES OF THE BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT ESTABLISHED BY THE TOWN OF NORTH HEMPSTEAD. THE PURPOSE OF THE DISTRICT IS TO ENHANCE THE DOWNTOWN BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT, ENCOURAGE VISITORS AND SHOPPERS, AND ELIMINATE BLIGHT. THE ORGANIZATION IS A COMPONENT UNIT OF THE TOWN OF NORTH HEMPSTEAD.
