THE CORPORATION'S PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES ARE THE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE OR PUBLIC PURPOSES OF: (I) RELIEVING AND REDUCING UNEMPLOYMENT; (II) PROMOTING, FACILITATING AND PROVIDING FOR ADDITIONAL AND MAXIMIZED EMPLOYMENT FOR INDIVIDUALS; (III) EXPANDING, BETTERING AND MAINTAINING JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR INDIVIDUALS; (IV) INSTRUCTING OR TRAINING INDIVIDUALS TO IMPROVE OR DEVELOP THEIR CAPABILITIES FOR SUCH JOBS; (V) CARRYING ON SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH FOR THE PURPOSE OF AIDING THE TOWN OF NORTH HEMPSTEAD BY ATTRACTING NEW INDUSTRY TO THE TOWN OR BY ENCOURAGING THE DEVELOPMENT, OR RETENTION, OF INDUSTRY IN THE TOWN OF NORTH HEMPSTEAD; (VI) LESSENING THE BURDENS OF GOVERNMENT AND ACTING IN THE PUBLIC INTEREST, THUS PERFORMING AN ESSENTIAL GOVERNMENTAL FUNCTION; AND (VII) ENHANCING BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES.

THE BTDC PROVIDED FUNDS OF $19,017 TO FOUR NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS TO BE UTILIZED FOR STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS. THIS PROGRAM REQUIRED THE NONPROFIT TO HAVE THEIR STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT APPROVED BY THE BTDC AND REQUIRED A MATCHING OF THE FUNDS PROVIDED BY THE BTDC. THE PROGRAM PROMOTES THE BEAUTIFICATION OF THE LOCAL AREA THE BTDC SERVICES.


THE BTDC SPONSORED $12,000 TO THE LANDMARK ON MAIN STREET, INC., WHICH PROMOTES CULTURAL, EDUCATIONAL, RECREATIONAL, SOCIAL AND CIVIC ACTIVITIES WITHIN THE GREATER PORT WASHINGTON COMMUNITY.


THE BTDC SPONSORED $12,000 TO THE GOLD COAST ARTS CENTER FOR SUPPORT OF THEIR GNERAL ACTIVITIES. THE GOLD COAST ARTS CENTER PROMOTES CULTURAL, EDUCATIONAL, RECREATIONAL, SOCIAL ACTIVITIES RELATING TO VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS WITHIN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY.
