THE MISSION OF THE EVANGELICAL MISSION SOCIETY OF AMERICA (EMSA) IS TO SUPPLY HUMANITARIAN AID TO INDIVIDUALS IN NEED AND TO PREACH THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST. EMSA SUPPORTS LOCAL CHURCHES OVERSEAS.

SCHMALZ PROGRAM: EMSA PROVIDES FUNDS AS SUPPORT FOR ORPHANS AND PEOPLE IN NEED IN THE REPUBLIC OF GEORGIA, INCUDING BIBLE TEACHING CLASSES, AND DISTRIBUTION OF LITERATURE.
EMSA PROVIDES OUTREACH AND SUPPORT TO THE REPUBLIC OF ABKHAZIA, A BREAKAWAY REPUBLIC FROM THE REPUBLIC OF GEORGIA. THE CIVIL WAR OF 1992-1993 BETWEEN THE ABKHAZIANS AND GEORGIANS LEFT THE SMALL ENCLAVE OF ABKHAZIA IMPOVERISHED. FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS EMSA HAS ASSISTED THE RUSSIAN CHURCHES IN SOCHI, RUSSIA IN MINISTERING TO THE ORPHANS AND HANDICAPPED CHILDREN IN ABKHAZIA. THIS ALSO INCLUDES A SMALL CONGREGATION IN GALL, ABKHAZIA WHICH WE HAVE TAKEN UNDER OUR WINGS AS A SISTER CHURCH IN SUPPLYING ANNUAL MONETARY SUPPORT.
EMSA HAS WORKED SINCE 1993 WITH EVANGELICAL RUSSIAN CHURCHES IN MINISTERING TO ORPHANS, HANDICAPPED AND ABUSED CHILDREN IN THE FORMER SOVIET UNION. WE PROVIDE HUMANITARIAN AID, EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR THIS WORK.
