THE BROOKLYN WOMEN'S EXCHANGE PROVIDES A FACILITY AND SERVICES TO FULFILL THE FOLLOWING EXEMPT PURPOSES OF THE ORGANIZATION:1. AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THOSE WHO WORK IN THE HANDCRAFT TRADITION, ARE DISADVANTAGED, ELDERLY AND/OR HANDICAPPED OR LIVE ON A LIMITED INCOME TO SELL THEIR HANDICRAFT ITEMS; 2. A CONTRIBUTION TO THE SUPPORT, MENTAL HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF THE DISADVANTAGED, ELDERLY AND HANDICAPPED CRAFTERS BY ENABLING THEM TO DISPLAY THEIR HANDCRAFTED WORK PRODUCTS TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC; AND 3. A MEANS TO ENRICH AND ENCOURAGE THE PUBLIC'S UNDERSTANDING AND APPRECIATION OF THE RICH AND HISTORIC AMERICAN HERITAGE OF HANDCRAFTED ARTICLES.
