UCONN HILLEL'S MISSION IS TO ENRICH THE LIVES OF JEWISH UNDERGRADUATE AND GRADUATE STUDENTS SO THAT THEY MAY ENRICH THE JEWISH PEOPLE AND THE WORLD.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

UCONN HILLEL ENRICHES THE LIVES OF STUDENTS THROUGH INCLUSIVE AND MEANINGFUL EXPERIENTIAL OPPORTUNITIES TO EXPLORE JUDAISM AND JEWISH VALUES ON THEIR OWN TERMS. WE PROVIDE NUMEROUS PROGRAMS AT ITS FACILITY ON THE UCONN CAMPUS AS WELL AS OUTREACH TO THE REGIONAL CAMPUSES. PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS INCLUDE: WEEKLY SHABBAT EXPERIENCE TO APPROXIMATELY 50 STUDENTS EACH WEEK. HOLIDAY SERVICES AND CELEBRATIONS INCLUDING HIGH HOLY DAYS, SUKKOT, CHANUKAH, PURIM AND PASSOVER.EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH OUR JEWISH LEARNING AND ISRAEL LEARNING COHORTSISRAEL EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY. OUR ISRAEL FELLOW AND MULTIPLE ISRAEL GROUPS EDUCATE UCONN STUDENTS ON CURRENT ISSUES, INCLUDING THE SOCIAL, POLITICAL AND CULTURAL NUANCES OF ISRAEL. WE ALSO COORDINATE FREE TRAVEL TO ISRAEL FOR STUDENTS THROUGH OUR PARTNERSHIPS WITH BIRTHRIGHT.INTERFAITH INITIATIVES.STUDENT LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT FOR BOARD MEMBERS, INTERNS AND OTHER STUDENT LEADERS.OUR FACILITY IS A SAFE, WELCOMING PLACE FOR STUDENTS TO RELAX, STUDY, AND SOCIALIZE WE SERVED ALMOST 800 STUDENTS LAST YEAR THROUGH OUR RELIGIOUS, SOCIAL AND EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVES.


INTERFAITH INITIATIVE VIA OUR SIGNATURE INTERFAITH TRIP FOR 20 STUDENTS TO ISRAEL THROUGH OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH THE MACCABEE TASK FORCE.
