THE ASSOCIATION REPRESENTS ITS MEMBERS' INTERESTS IN CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS WITH THE STATE OF CONNECTICUT. IT IS AFFILIATED WITH THE AMERICAN FEDERATION OF TEACHERS, AFL-CIO, AND OTHER STATE AND REGIONAL LABOR ORGANIZATIONS. THE ASSOCIATION PROMOTES AND PROTECTS THE PROFESSIONAL, COLLEGIAL AND ECONOMIC WELFARE OF ITS MEMBERS. IT ALSO STRIVES TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CONNECTICUT.
