THE MISSION OF THE BIG THOMPSON WATERSHED FORUM IS TO SUPPORT THE PROTECTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF WATER QUALITY IN THE BIG THOMPSON WATERSHED THROUGH COLLABORATIVE MONITORING, ASSESSMENT, EDUCATION/OUTREACH PROJECTS.

MONITORING: THE GOAL OF THE MONITORING PROGRAM IS TO INCREASE THE AMOUNT AND ACCESSIBILITY OF QUALITY-ASSURED DATA ON WATER BODIES IN THE BIG THOMPSON WATERSHED. THE FORUM PARTNERS WITH THE U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY (USGS) TO CONDUCT MONTHLY WATER QUALITY SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS ON 13 SITES THROUGHOUT THE WATERSHED. SAMPLE ANALYSIS IS CONDUCTED BY THE USGS.
