PROMOTING QUALITY OF LIFE, COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT, AND INDEPENDENT LIVING FOR SENIORS. PROVIDING NUTRITION, TRANSPORTATION, HEALTH AND SUPPORT SERVICES, AND SOCIALIZATION THROUGH PROGRAMS, SERVICES, EDUCATION, AND ADVOCACY.

NUTRITION - SERVED MEALS AT CONGREGATE MEAL SITES IN OLD SAYBROOK, OLD LYME, AND CLINTON. ALSO SERVED MEALS ON WHEELS TO HOMEBOUND RESIDENTS OF NINE TOWNS, CLINTON, CHESTER, DEEP RIVER, ESSEX, KILLINGWORTH, LYME, OLD LYME, OLD SAYBROOK AND WESTBROOK. WE ALSO HAVE A GRAB & GO MEAL SERVICE IN OLD SAYBROOK, OLD LYME AND CLINTON. SERVED APPROXIMATELY 22,000 CONGREGATE MEALS, 60,000 MEALS ON WHEELS, AND 15,000 GRAB & GO MEALS.
ASSISTANCE/COUNSELING - VARIOUS OUTREACH SERVICES TO AID THE ELDERLY INCLUDING HEALTH & NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING, HEALTH SCREENS INCLUDING BLOOD PRESSURE, CHOLESTEROL, AND DIABETES. ALSO, SUPPORT GROUPS, TAX ASSISTANCE, AND COMMUNITY INFORMATION GROUPS. OVERALL, 30,000 VISITS FOR ASSISTANCE AND COUNSELING. WE HAVE ALSO STARTED A SOCIAL WORKER PROGRAM WITH A PART TIME SOCIAL WORKER ON STAFF.
TRANSPORTATION OF ELDERLY AND HANDICAPPED INDIVIDUALS FOR NUTRITION, SHOPPING, AND MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS WITHIN AND OUTSIDE THE NINE TOWN'S ESTUARY REGION. THE ESTUARY PROVIDED 460 OUTPATIENT MEDICAL RIDES.
